E. During the reporting period, the station employment unit engaged in the following initiatives:
- Participated in Job Fairs: KKNT/KPXQ Participated in the following job fairs this reporting period. Arizona Broadcasters Career Fair, May 3, 2007, Scottsdale, AZ: attended by Diane Johnson, Business Manager, John Timm, General Manager and Jim Seemiller, General Sales Manager, KKNT/KPXQ. Participation included handing out information on career opportunities in broadcasting, soliciting applications, and collecting resumes.
- Internship Program: This program offers students/interns active participation in day-to-day job functions in our programming, promotion and sales departments. The interns are recruited from local area universities and community colleges. This program resulted in no hires this reporting period.
- List Upper-level category openings in a job bank or newsletter of a media trade group whose membership includes substantial participation of women and minorities: KKNT/KPXQ posts all full and part time job openings, including upper-level positions with the following organizations. *American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT) *Az. Women in Education and Employment *Ad2 Phoenix *Arizona Broadcasters Association *NAB Career Center.
- Provide training to management level personnel as to the methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination: KKNT/KPXQ requires all newly hired management level personnel to participate and complete on line Employment Law Learning programs on recruiting, hiring and discrimination issues and laws. This reporting period two participants completed three training programs. KKNT/KPXQ review applicant flow reports on a quarterly basis with management level personnel at our management meetings. As part of these meetings we encourage the referral of minority and female candidates to the stations and evaluate the efforts and results.
